Throwback Thursday is a topic hosted by Renee at It’s Book Talk. It’s a chance to share some old favourites or books that have been on your ever growing To Be Read list. You can check out Rene’s picks here.
Today’s pick is:
Scientist Maryse Robicheaux thought that a lot of her problems had gone away with her mother-in-law’s death. The woman was rude, pushy, manipulative and used her considerable wealth to run herd over the entire town of Mudbug, Louisiana. Unfortunately, death doesn’t slow down Helena one bit. DEA Agent Luc LeJeune is wondering what his undercover assignment investigating the sexy scientist has gotten him into – especially as it seems someone wants her dead. Keeping his secrets while protecting Maryse proves to be easier than fighting his attraction for the brainy beauty.
(Note: This book is part of the author’s backlist, originally released in print in 2009 by Dorchester Publishing)

This was my first Jana DeLeon book. I got hooked into her bayou setting right away. It’s a paranormal cozy because Helena is a ghost but that’s not the focus of the story. The funny moments are really where poor Maryse tries to deal with the fall-out of things caused by a ghost no one else can see!
I enjoyed this one and the rest of the Ghost-in-law series.
If you liked this Bullet Book Review style be sure to check out Merv’s page at mervreads as that’s where I ‘borrowed’ it from. She’s got some pretty awesome content to share. Go give her some blog love!

I read this book some time ago. I haven’t thought about it in a long time. I don’t think there is a review on my site.

It has been out quite some time.

Since there is not a review and I started writing them in 2013 it was out before that time.

Oh wow…but yes. It should have a bit of age. I know I read it several years ago.

Alright, Nina! first, loved the cover–way too cute
loved the concept–unique for sure
loved your introduction to the Bullet Book Review style–oh, yes, i’ll swing over there and check it out. i can see where that style would come in VERY handy for a few of the books i’ve read.

😄 Glad you enjoyed!
I think it was around a 4.5. I really liked this one and possibly think it was the strongest of the three in this particular series. There was another Helena series after, but I can’t remember the name.

The Harry Potter series, along with the Twilight series + The All Souls Trilogy are books I’ve read over and over again.

I included a link to MervReads. She came up with the concept. I think she changes some of the bullets depending on what she wants to cover but I saw it on her page.

I was wondering where the traffic is coming from. Oh, it’s you! I’m so happy you used the bullet book review ❤ in case you’re gonna use it again i just want you to know that you can tweak the bullet points. I used those points cause that’s what appears on what I mostly read. Loved your review! Have a great booky day 😄

Lol. It’s a really useful style!! True. I will have to tweak it for the next time depending on the book. I might do another one soon and put in Misplaced Mondays. I’ve got the latest to read in a series that I started before blogging 😄
