Review and Blog Tour for Chasing Dreams at Hedgehog Hollow by Jessica Redland @rararesources @JessicaRedland

Always a great day when Jessica visits The Cozy Pages!

Samantha has a secret. Returning home from her dream honeymoon to the normality of running her beloved Hedgehog Hollow rescue centre, she’s ready for the next chapter of her life with Josh. Or is she? Samantha is hiding something which could forever change the dreams they shared and bring their happy ever after crashing to the ground.

Lauren has given up on love. Twenty-six years ago the love of her life, Shaun, left her a note and was never seen again. Two painful divorces later she still can’t face opening up to anyone. But little does Lauren know that the closure she’s dreamt of for all these years may be closer than she thinks, and perhaps the only way to let new love in is to forgive and forget.

Samantha and Lauren will need the love and support from the Hedgehog Hollow family more than ever. After all, some dreams are worth chasing…

Welcome back to Hedgehog Hollow. It’s summer and all is beautiful and full of hope at the hedgehog rescue centre… but is it..?

This is the penultimate book in the Hedgehog Hollow series and I’m almost teary at the thought of just one more story for Sam and the wonderful gang of characters she’s collected along her way.

Another quick side note about the value of reading these books in order. It’s really not necessary BUT you’ll enjoy each character’s journey so so so much more if you do! Maybe you’ll be a lot less partial to Chloe and Debs, if you do, but even those two have grown on me by this point. It’s a testimony to Jessica’s gorgeous storytelling abilities and the way she created rich, multi-faceted characters.

While the main heroine of each book is Samantha (and Josh as her trusty sidekick), there’s usually another person staring as well. In this novel we learn loads more about Josh’s Aunty Lauren and her troubled past.

Oh my word, I just adore how Jessica sets up the suspense and intrigue into Lauren’s past. It’s heightened even more when we realize there are things even her twin sister, Connie, doesn’t know! And the lovely Sam is there, as always, to help out.

Sam has her own trials to face but we know ultimately she’ll be okay. She’s got her strong foundation and her people will not let her down!

As always, the author handles some heavy topics through her character’s lives. However, each of these is dealt with sensitively and only to the point needed to explore each character’s growth.

I honestly feel like I’m coming home each time I settle into one of Jessica’s books. These characters become friends, in a way, and I adore catching up with the.

One more to go!

I give Chasing Dreams at Hedgehog Hollow 5/5 aromatic, robust espresso shots!

  1. Hi Nina, lovely to hear from you and thanks so much for joining the blog tour for Chasing Dreams at Hedgehog Hollow. I always eagerly anticipate your reviews and am delighted that you loved this fifth instalment as much as the others. I completely agree with you about reading the series from the start. Although I do work hard to make each book work as a standalone story, there’s a big cast of characters by this point and there are themes across the series and character development which is so much richer from reading book 1 onwards. Really appreciate all your lovely comments about the story and my writing. Your friends at Hedgehog Hollow look forward to welcome you back for one final instalment really soon. Christmas Miracles at Hedgehog Hollow is out on 6th September this year x
