J.W. over at Storeys of Stories hosts this meme.
Taken from J.W.’s introduction:
• Based on this sampling of your current read, give a few impressions and predict what you’ll think by the end.
• Did you think you’d love it and ended up hating it? Or did you think you’d hate it and wound up loving it? Or were you exactly right?
• Link back to Storeys of Stories so I can enjoy reading all the First Impression Fridays out there!
I started this book very optimistically as I’d seen glowing reviews of it last year. Also, other bloggers whose tastes are similar to mine are quite convinced I’d enjoy it too. I loved the preface of the book, which is an ode to small town life.
Then the story slowed and I just couldn’t get myself too much into it. I took a day’s break from the book, read another short cozy mystery novella and then got back into The Last Homecoming. While the first 10% may have dragged for me, I flew through the next 10. So at 20% into the tale I’m totally immersed and can’t wait to read more. This is definitely going to score 4 stars and above!
Have a great weekend!!!!
I am glad that it is panning out for you. I love the cover.

Okay, you had me worried for awhile there but wouldn’t be the first time I’ve gotten the wrong impression. Speaking of impressions–I’m reading one now this meme would be perfect. Perhaps tomorrow–it’s a heavy one.

Hahaha. I think it was just my mood and trying to settle into the story. Finished it a couple hours ago and I loved it. The end is so simple and perfect and yet made me teary eyed 😊

It’s a good meme too to just get your first thoughts down.
