Hi, Dear Friend, and welcome to the Kooky Kids’ Club. This is a club for exceptional kids‌—‌just like you. Perhaps you are gifted at drawing cartoons, or excellent at languages. Maybe you’re good with your hands, and you make amazing things out of wood or yarn.

The Kooky Kids’ Club is the place where unique children find their “people”. 

         Maxine is thrilled when she is welcomed into the Kooky Kids’ Club because she doesn’t have any friends at all. She’s bright and sweet and wonderfully quirky right down to her Republic of Panda badge and silly socks. 

         The only people who understand Maxine and see through to her gifted nature are her Aunt Izzie and her teacher, Miss Thompson. When Miss Thompson leaves the school under mysterious circumstances it is up to Maxine and her new supportive friends to figure out what happened.

Robbie did it again. He wrote another book that made me go ‘aww’ and turn to mush.  Actually, I think this one stole my heart. The Kooky Kids’ Clubis a light and cheerful book, but for anyone who has ever struggled to ‘fit in’ or knows what it’s like to face bullies, this story may even bring a tear.

Robbie uses his delightful talent for bringing words to life to send young ones a very important message… things will get better! School days can be tough but life outside of that bubble has so many wonderful experiences waiting. Hang in there, talk to an adult you trust and believe in your worth. 

As for the mystery about Miss Thompson’s leaving, it’s pretty intriguing. How the kids devise a plan to figure out what happened and how it all comes together will certainly keep your interest!
