Tag: NetGalley Book Tag

Looking through my drafts folder I’ve come across quite a few tags that I have yet to do.  This one was sent to my by Mischenko over Read Rant Rock and Roll since July!  I also think I have a couple even older than that… but that’s a discussion for another day.  Thanks Mischenko for the tag!

Rules:

♥ Link back to the tag’s creator Kourtni at Kourtni Reads.
♥ Thank and link back to the person who tagged you.
♥ Answer the questions the best you can. If you don’t use NetGalley, you can substitute other sites or places where you get books!
♥ Tag a few people to do this too.

-Auto-Approved: Who’s one author whose books you automatically want to read, regardless of what they’re about?

I can’t narrow down to one! A few of these authors you may have heard me mention before: Jessica Redland, Jana DeLeon, James J. Cudney and J.K. Rowling.  Hmm… I seemed to have picked one letter though… J 😂

-Request: What makes you want to request a book that you see on NetGalley?

I have a serious cover love problem.  The cover will always give me pause if I like it.  Then of course I’ll check out the blurb and if it’s an author I know I enjoy, I’ll most likely request.

Feedback Ratio: Do you review every book you read? If not, how do you decide what books to review?

Since I started blogging a year ago, I have pretty much reviewed all the fiction books I read.

Badges: If you could create your own badge to display on your blog, what would it be for?

I’m going with Mischenko’s answer: Maybe a few badges for the reading challenges I’m doing this year?

Wish for It: What’s one book that you are absolutely dying to read?

I’m really excited for the sequel to Children of Blood and Bone: Children of Virtue and Vengeance.  I also just requested the next book by Chanel Cleeton, When We Left Cuba (which is kind of sequel to Next Year in Havana).

when we left cuba

2017 NetGalley Challenge: What was the last book that you received as an ARC that you reviewed? If you’ve never received an ARC, what’s the last book you reviewed?

The last ARC I reviewed is Due East, Beasts and Campfire Feasts by Erin Johnson.  I have a couple more ARCS coming up this month too.

  1. Ooooh you are auto approved with Jay, I am sure.
    Secondly happy diwali… Lovely lights.
    Thirdly beautiful answers.
I want auto approval for thrillers fantasy, horror, women’s fiction.
It would be easier to say I don’t want auto approval for pure romance and erotica…
I love good covers too. I don’t read books with bad covers generally. At least I won’t buy that book.
At this moment, due to headache, I am dying to get back to reading without pain. 😕😕😞😞🤕🤕😕😕
I review all book on NetGalley, sometimes I don’t want to write or I am blocked then I write a few lines as feedback. But don’t put up a review on blog.
And yayyy another tag done and you got a loooong comment 😂😂😂😂😂😁😁

    1. That is a loooong comment. Lol.
I’m sorry you still have that headache and I really hope it clears up soon so you can get back to fully enjoying your books and everything else it’s affecting.
I know the whole don’t judge a book by a cover thing but I can’t help it sometimes! Lol. Especially if I don’t know anything about the author.
I feel bad not to do the NetGalley reviews… for now 😉😂😊 But I am extremely selective with what I request there too.

  2. I’m so glad you did the tag! I’m with you–the cover gets me every single time. Do all the ‘Spells and Caramels’ books have similar covers? I love that one and must get to the series eventually. Thanks for linking back! ❤

  3. Happy Diwali!!!
I totally agree with your cover love!! That’s usually how I pick my books… Although, I have had some other strange reasons to request books. Like the request I made because of the character’s name. 😂😂 I never know what will entice me!

  4. I’m with you on the cover love: I’m a secondhand book fiend, so it’s not often that I get to pick and choose which edition/cover I wish to purchase (I pretty much get what I get and I don’t get upset, ha!), so when I see a book with a beautiful cover, it has EXTRA pulling power *drools* 😍🤤
