Continuing with the Mitzy Moon cozy mystery series, books 3 and 4 were just as endearing as the first two and I will definitely be catching up with this series through the year!

A crime with no eyewitness. A determined psychic sleuth. Will her search for clues take her where angels fear to tread?
Mitzy Moon is eager to test her expanding abilities. She’d love to look into the hit-and-run that struck down her favorite veterinarian while everyone was at the Yuletide Extravaganza. But before she can suss out a single tip, the advances of a charming green-eyed stranger offer a dangerous distraction…
Desperate to put her investigation back on track, she goes undercover at the high school and lands on the wrong side of the law by lunch. And her “get out of jail free” card comes with the help of her meddling Grams, an interfering feline, and her alchemically inclined attorney. But when a curse puts her powers on the fritz, she may not be able to save everyone…
Can Mitzy juggle dating and sleuthing, or will a hex knock off more than her halo?

Book 3 in the Mitzy Moon series; and if I wasn’t hooked before, well I certainly am now!
The mystery Mitzy is ensconced in this time is who struck down local veterinarian, Ledo. In her determination to find justice for the town favourite, Mitzy crosses a few boundaries she shouldn’t. There are consequences and rewards to such actions and we meet several new, darling characters such as the teenage boy, Stellen. One of the reasons Mitzy is so keen to uncover who hurt the doc, is that he’s been a saviour for her pet caracal… yup, you read that right, Mitzy’s familiar is a wild cat! And he sure is an entertaining addition to the stories.
I can’t say there are too many clues to help guide us towards solving this one and the final ‘showdown’ isn’t exactly dramatic. However, the character development we see, the new story lines that open up and the growth in Mitzy’s powers all come together to make Wings and Broken Things quite gripping.
In this instalment, we also meet the green-eyed charmer, Rory Bombay. Is he a viable alternative to capture Mitzy’s heart? Hmm… Sheriff Erick better figure out where he stands on that one. I look forward to see where that drama leads; especially as I’m convinced Mr. Bombay is up to no good.
I give Wings and Broken Things 4.5/5 espresso shots.

A suspicious fire. A Valentine’s Day discovery. Will this psychic sleuth gamble—and lose?
Mitzy Moon’s clairvoyant abilities are growing, but she never predicted arson. After waking to a towering inferno and loading her mentor into an ambulance, she thought things couldn’t get worse. But when the sheriff links her father to the blaze, she’s forced to take the case.
Coming up empty on love and leads pushes Mitzy to unnecessary risks. Now her otherworldly helpers, a nosy Ghost-ma and a fiendish feline, are the only ones who can save her bacon. But with break-ins, Bingo, and big storms stalling out her investigation, she may not be able to keep her dad out of jail.
Can Mitzy dig up the right clues, or will she fall for a sinister plot that puts her six feet under?
Sparks and Landmarks is the fourth book in the hilarious paranormal cozy mystery series, Mitzy Moon Mysteries. If you like snarky heroines, supernatural intrigue, and a dash of romance, then you’ll love Trixie Silvertale’s twisty whodunits.
Available on Amazon and through Kindle Unlimited.

Have I mentioned before how well the present tense narrative works in these stories? It’s a bit different from most cozy mysteries but it works. I think it also goes with the more youthful vide of the story. After all, Mitzy is only 21!
The mystery to solve this time is who killed Judge Carlson and tried to frame Mitzy’s dad, Jacob. I have to admit, there aren’t a whole slew of suspects. We pretty much end up with just the one main contender and have to figure out what (s)he has planned and why. I actually wished we got a bit more on him/her as their backstory and set up were quite intriguing. That said, the clues and pacing of the story are good and definitely keeps the reader’s attention. The big reveal is quite exciting and allows for Jacob and Mitzy to share some sweet dad-daughter time.
The overall series romance between Mitzy and Sheriff Erick continues its slow, sweet pace. I can’t wait for things to get serious between these two. There’s certainly chemistry there.
Overall, another fun visit to Pin Cherry with just the right amount of laughter and emotion to make me come back for more.
I give Sparks and Landmarks 4/5 fiery espresso shots.
