J.W. over at Storeys of Stories hosts this meme.

Taken from J.W.’s introduction:
• Based on this sampling of your current read, give a few impressions and predict what you’ll think by the end.
• Did you think you’d love it and ended up hating it? Or did you think you’d hate it and wound up loving it? Or were you exactly right?
• Link back to Storeys of Stories so I can enjoy reading all the First Impression Fridays out there!

For possibly the first time ever, the show has led me to read the book. I am unashamedly on the Bridgerton bandwagon. Surprisingly it was my husband who suggested we watch it. Of course, he couldn’t understand how I could pretty much predict everything that would happen. Haha. But when you read historical romance regularly, you know the tropes!
Anyway, I love the casting. Regé-Jean is some seriously good eye candy, Phoebe Dyvenor is so sweet and cute and Golda Rosheuvel has the perfect resting b***h face for the queen. And then there’s the glorious set creation and the musical score. So yeah… I loved it and was amazed to see how much the hubby enjoyed it too. We can’t wait for season 2 but, by then, I’ll probably have read all the Bridgeton books…
Starting with the Duke and I, which opens with Simon’s birth and the horrible relationship he had with his father, especially in the early years. Although I know the story, the writing still captured my attention and imagination. I certainly want to know how that sad and angry young child would grow up and how his relationship with his father would affect his future choices…
I’m pretty sure the Duke and I will be scoring at least a 4 out of 5 espresso shots.
How are you enjoying your newest read?
Have a Happy Friday!!!
you ask if i’m enjoying my latest read? such a hoot, Nina, The Wise Ass by Tom McCaffrey. (I should have saved for March–Irish.) I have work to do, but just want to read!
