Hello books of 2021. I cannot wait to meet you!
What a year 2020 was. My reading was definitely affected at various points throughout the year. There were the months were I read 10+ books as I sought to escape into light, sweet stories. There were also a couple highly stressful months at work where I struggled to find quality reading time. I surpassed my original 2020 Goodreads goal of 70 books sometime in July and adjusted up to 100. We’ll see how this year goes!

I’ve gotten quite spoiled by Goodreads’ tracking data. One year I’ll finally get my detailed spreadsheet actually filled out for the whole year and do lots of fancy calculations. For now, I’ll make use of the lovely graphics provided by the Goodreads people. I quite like how they’ve broken down longest and shortest books and number of pages read, as well as the average ratings. Here’s what my year in reading snapshot looks like.

According to Goodreads, 16 of my 121 reads were rated 5 stars. I gave 4 stars to 86 books. 18 books were rated 3 stars; and one received just 2 stars.
In 2021, I’ve gone straight for the 100 books. Hmm…. can I average 8.3 books a month? Lol. We’ll see how it goes. I’ve gotten several author requests and I really would like to say yes to more of them this year… so fingers crossed! Additionally, I seem to have re-stocked my bookshelves of unread physical books so I’ll be needing to make some sofa-reading time to cut through those. And well let’s not get into too much detail about the Kindle backlog….. Ah well. New year, new books… happy reading!

A good score. Now what was the book with 2 star? Viper? Hehehe trust me to start your year with erotic vampire… And the author requests sound delish. I am cutting off author requests this year and will read purely for my pleasure. I am stealing this year for me and my books

You mean you would ignore an author request from me as well, Princess Shalini??? I am more than dismayed…..

Man, how do you catch me at all the right places? 😂😂😂Wouldn’t you be a lover’s request, especially after our last chat? 😂😂
And yes, Nina, it was hot and heavy. He was being a Viper, pun so intended.

Do you really want me to change? Why do I feel that you say one thing but you mean something else? 😂😂 I am always changing… Subtly 😂😂

I’ve set the same goal! I figure I read just over 100 books in 2020, the bin fire of a year, so it should be do-able. Cheering you on from here!

Hehe. I’ve read over 100 every year but always been too scared to fully commit to the 100 up front. I’m taking the plunge! Lol. All the best to you too.
