Why I love Historical Fiction

I adore how well-written historical fiction can bring an emotional understanding to issues that no textbook ever could. In doing so, readers / students / historians even can connect with a piece of the past in an even more authentic way.

What are some of your favourites in this genre?

Given my profession, as I Latin American History lecturer, I may be a bit pre-disposed to enjoying books books set in that part of the world. Yet, there are so many others that have piqued my interest in other places and inspired my research into other events.

If you want to read more about the value of historical fiction and some of my favourite books in the genre, head over to This Is My Truth Now. Today I’m a guest blogger for Jay. You should also try one of his novels if you haven’t as yet 😉)
