Blog Tour and Review of The Lord’s Inconvenient Vow by Lara Temple ~with Giveaway @rararesources

I am so excited to be sharing my post today as part of the blog tour for The Lord’s Inconvenient Vow!

‘I have a favour to ask…

I want you to marry me.’

Part of The Sinful Sinclairs. Samantha Sinclair was always Lord Edgerton’s complete opposite. But as Edge meets Sam again in Egypt, it’s clear the years have changed her as much as him. So when she blurts out an impulsive, convenient proposal, Edge’s protective urge compels him to accept. Is it possible for two such different people to be together and find the happiness they both deserve?

Lara Temple must be one of those people who was simply born to be a writer with her absolutely enchanting way with words and creation of beautiful worlds. In the Sinful Sinclairs series we are told the stories of each of the three Sinclair siblings but, additionally, we get little snippets of the Desert Boy stories, the beguiling series of books set in a fantasy Egyptian world.

The Lord’s Inconvenient Vow just happens to star both the writer and the illustrator of those stories and so we get little quotes from the books at the start of each chapter. Those quotes are always relevant to the chapter and add a really unique touch to the tale.

The main characters are Edge, Lord Edward Edgerton, and Samantha Sinclair and what a pairing they make. Samantha is a very sympathetic female protagonist. She’s always been a bit daring and willing to accept most challenges. She shows a brave front to the world but secretly yearns for the stability of a full family. She’s bolstered by and love and protection of her brothers who adore her as well, but she wants a husband and children of her own. Her first marriage, and the mistakes she made then, haunt her, they’ve even broken her wild and daring spirit. Her spark is missing. The story unravels as Sam’s facade unravels too, to reveal the truth of who she is and who she’s loved. With the support of Edge, her brothers and the Desert Boy books, she’ll find a way to pull herself back together and dare to dream again.

Edge is possibly as broken as Sam and in as much need of her love and care as she is of his. He also searches for a family to replace the one he never really had. Like Sam, he has relatives who would move mountains for him, and he also made mistakes in his first marriage. Like Sam, he too is searching for his ‘home’. His journey to rediscover himself and accept that he deserves a happily ever after is just as twisty as that of his lady love’s.

There’s a little mystery thrown in as well as we follow the hunt for Edge’s lost brother. That adventure provides welcome intrigue and takes us to varied locations. I wonder if Rafe will feature in his own story one day…

Overall, The Lord’s Inconvenient Vow is a racy, romantic and utterly delightful read starring characters you’ll definitely wish to see again.

I give this story 4.5/5 very convenient espresso shots.

About the Author

Lara Temple writes regency romances about complex individuals who give no quarter but do so with plenty of passion.

After moving around the world as a financial analyst she returned to her childhood love of making up stories, and was surprised to discover that other people don’t mind reading them.

She lives with her husband, two children, and Lord Oscar the pooch who are all very forgiving about her taking over the kitchen table when she’s writing.
