And just like that, one half of the year is done. Wow. The children are on school vacation and looking forward to their camp activities starting next week. The husband and I are taking a four day vacation from today… well, vacation for me and a bit of work for him. Either way, it’s the first time since we’ve had kids that we’ll be going anywhere together without them. Have to admit, I’m more excited about the trip than apprehensive about leaving the kids. Haha. But Grannies and aunties are also happy to have them, so there’s that.
As I suspected, with more and more activities planned for the summer months, there are a few less hours for reading. I only squeezed in 6 before July 1st. I was just halfway through Ten Women by Marcela Serrano at that point. I got half the reviews posted, the others are still awaiting editing in my drafts folder.
Here’s what I read in June.
Only two cozy mysteries in June, Witch Interrupted and Every Dog Has His Day. I may go into withdrawal soon! But I was more than well-entertained by some absolutely enthralling historical fiction in Eva Luna and The Murmur of Bees. I finally got to the charming Bear With Me and I enjoyed Solstice Sizzle too. One more off my physical shelf and two from the Kindle Unlimited subscription.
For July, I’m keeping the planned list pretty light. I have two blog tour reviews, a couple NetGalleys that are coming up to publication and an author request. Thanks to Sam over at Modern Witch’s Bookshelf, I have my travel book already packed, The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo. Can’t wait to get into that one! Here’s my list for the month:
When Sally Comes Marching Home by Richard Milton
Every Love by Jann Doe (A book of poetry)
When Polly Met Olly by Zoe May
A Keeper by Graham Norton
Pride, Prejudice and Poison by Elizabeth Blake
The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid
What about you? What are your reading plans for the month?
