Welcome to my stop on the Blog Tour for Granny Bricks a Bandit by Julie Seedorf. I’m quite chuffed to be hosting a guest post by Granny herself! Please read on, you’ll certainly enjoy!
Granny and her cohorts are at it again! When Granny and her neighbor Mavis, go water-skiing and discover a dead body, Granny’s sleuthing instincts take over! She is determined to identify the corpse and find the killer. But wait! No sooner are Granny and her cohorts on the murderer’s trail, then Mavis’ husband George suddenly disappears! Could he be the killer’s next victim? Or could he be the killer? When the gals take a side trip to the Mall of America, they find a man fell to his death on a climbing wall––and Mavis is certain she spots George nearby! What does it all mean? Will Granny get to the bottom of it, with the help of her entourage of buddies and pets?

Here I am on Cozy Pages. Thank you for asking me to be here. I am Hermiony Vidalia Criony Fiddlestadt Crickett, better known as Granny. I think people would be surprised that I am guesting on a site called Cozy Pages. I am more the type that would be invited to guest on the crotchety pages. Yes, I do carp a little bit. I am kind of gruff but once you get to know me, what’s not to love?
Let me introduce you to my community of Fuchsia, MN. I don’t think I could live anywhere else or if I did, they would probably ban me too. Fuchsia is a little weird and quirky. The community doesn’t abide by the same rules as other Minnesota towns. Have you seen all the gray and tan houses out there? Or what about the covenant rules in neighborhoods? Why the town my author lives in just sent out an entire sheet of new rules on how to live on your own property. No siree, (that’s Minnesota speak in case you didn’t know) we live and let live in Fuchsia, although occasionally we do have some hoopla about the pink flamingos at Christmas and the Snow Festival in the summer. But we are bright, so bright you might want to wear your sunglasses in Fuchsia.
I fit in quite well. The citizens are used to me although I did surprise them when I showed them some moves as I caught the shoplifters and the kidnappers with my umbrella, way back when. No need for guns when every day household material is available for a weapon. Have you ever seen anyone trying to ban a pitchfork or a knitting needle?
I have kids. They underestimate me or it could be I let them underestimate me. It is the element of surprise you know. What you see is not always what you get. My son, Thor, has half of the Police Chief position. That comes in handy at times and gets in the way of my crime fighting at times too.
My daughters are very different from each other. Penelope is the older daughter and she is married to Butch. They moved to Fuchsia to watch me, although they tried to tell me they just wanted to own a hardware store—likely story.
And then there is Starshine. She fits her name. She is ethereal and she is involved with an older man right now. I will take care of that, eventually.
I have friends. That might surprise you because I get a little snippy. My friends understand they need taking care of and they come in handy when I am snooping out crime. They get me and that is what real friends do.
I do have a little romance in my life. That is all I am going to say about that subject.
I must go. I am running for Mayor. My brother is running against me and he wants to turn Fuchsia into the rest of the world. I am running on the campaign “Keep Fuchsia Fuchsia.”
Toodles and remember vote Granny!
About the Author
A Bit About Me As An Impassioned Writer
As human beings, we are always a work in progress. From birth to death we live, hurt, laugh, cry, feel, and with all of those emotions we grow as people, as family members, and as friends. I am a dreamer and feel blessed to have the opportunity in my writing to pass those dreams on to others. I believe you are never too old to dream and to turn those dreams into a creative endeavor. I live in rural Minnesota and I am a wife, mother, and grandmother.
I have worn many hats throughout my life such as working as a waitress, nursing home activities person, office manager and finally a computer repair person eventually owning my own computer sales and repair business. I never forgot my love of writing and quit my computer business in 2012 after signing a contract with Cozy Cat Press for Granny Hooks A Crook, the first book in my Fuchsia, Minnesota Series.
Adding four more books to the Fuchsia Series, adding a new Brilliant, Minnesota Series and writing a column for local newspapers feeds my writing creativity.
I also dabble a bit in watercolor painting and hope to eventually add pictures to my children’s book series, Granny’s In Trouble.
Oh, and did I tell you I like to be a little bit silly.
