First Impression Friday (9)

J.W. over at Storeys of Stories hosts this meme.

Taken from his introduction:

First Impression Friday will be a meme where you talk about a book that you JUST STARTED! Maybe you’re only a chapter or two in, maybe a little farther.  Based on this sampling of your current read, give a few impressions and predict what you’ll think by the end.  Did you think you’d love and ended up hating it? Or did you think you’d hate it and wound up loving it? Or were you exactly right? I think what will really make this meme a lot of fun, is linking back to it from your review to say, “Look at how wrong I was!” OR “See? I knew it all along!”

It’s the end of a series…

Weddings are supposed to be all about white veils, flowers and happily ever after. For Aisling Grimlock, she wants the ending … but the journey isn’t quite finished.
Ever since her mother returned from the dead almost a year prior, Aisling has been riddled with doubts.
Is Lily Grimlock a killer?
What does she ultimately want?
Does she have anyone’s best interests at heart?
All of those questions are about to be answered, although the person providing the information is one Aisling thought she would never see again. Another woman, another time, another mother.
It’s all coming together … and the ultimate limit of Aisling’s strength and fortitude is about to be tested.
Cormack Grimlock is determined to give his daughter the wedding of her dreams. The four Grimlock brothers are determined to serve as protectors. And Griffin? He just wants a happy wife and to start a new life.
There’s only one thing standing in their way, one battle left to fight.
The time is here. The Grimlocks are throwing down, and not everyone is going to make it out alive … and happily ever after might ultimately be a dream.

This is the tenth and last book in the Aisling Grimlock Mystery Series. The romance between Aisling and Griffin has arrived at it’s biggest challenge… the wedding. Not the marriage… they are looking forward to that part but the actual wedding not so much! I’ve enjoyed this series so far as I’ve grown quite fond of the characters. I’m about 12% in and the action, both mystery and character based, is looking good. Can’t wait to get the final answers about Mama Grimlock!

I predict at least 4 espresso shots.

Are you enjoying your current read?

  1. Interesting name ‘Aisling’. We just had a character with that name a few weeks back and I thought it was so unique. The book sounds good! Hope you end up loving it when you’re done. 💗

      1. I think it’s pronounced like you say ‘Ashling’. I guess it’s an Irish name. The funny thing is, at first I was pronouncing it with a long a. 😂 It’s a beautiful and unique name regardless.

        Glad you liked it! 😁

      1. And coincidentally enough, Joe from Storeys of Stories wrote a piece just the other day about random coincidences across characters/ words or events across books he might be reading simultaneously or close together. Lol
