Received an ARC and not reviewed it  X

I am a bit anal about ARCs.  If I get one, I feel an inordinate pressure to get the book read and reviewed.  That’s why I don’t accept very many!

Have less than 60% feedback rating on NetGalley X

Pretty much in keeping with the above.  I feel like if I have the book, I have to read it or I’ll get called into the book-blogger principal’s office. 🙈😄  I’m at 83% or something like that.

Rated a book on Goodreads and promised a full review was to come on you blog (and never did) X

It’s actually the other way around.  I’ll post on my blog and then have to remember to cross-post to Amazon and Goodreads.

Folded down the page of a book  √

Pretty sure I’ve done this.  Also pretty sure it was in a non-fiction book too.

Accidentally spilled on a book  √

I don’t think so… but it is possible it happened and I just blocked t out.  Lol

DNF a book this year  X

I have promised myself to do that if necessary.  But I haven’t read anything that really really really made me want to.

Bought a book purely because it was pretty with no intention of reading it  X

I’ll admit to having a bad case of cover love and the covers will always catch my attention, but I won’t buy a book just to have a pretty cover in my collection.

Read whilst you were meant to be doing something else (like homework, etc.)  √

Of course!!!!!

Skim read a book  √

Oh yes, especially as I am reluctant to DNF.  I usually end up skimming through a book if I’m not enjoying it.

Completely missed your Goodreads goal  X

2018 was my first year for actually setting a Goodreads goal… and I totally smashed it!

Borrowed a book and not returned it √

I suspect I have done this… I’m sorry.

Broke a book buying ban  √

What’s that word ‘ban’ mean?????

Started a review, left it for ages then forgot what the book was about X

What is more likely to happen is that I read a book and then wait forever to even start to write the review about it and forget what the book was about.

Wrote in a book you were reading  √

I was a literature student.  It was allowed!

Finished a book and not added it to your Goodreads  X

I think I pretty much add everything.

Dodged someone asking if they can borrow a book √

Probably.

Broke the spine of someone else’s book X

Don’t think so.

Took the jacket off a book to protect it and ended up making it more damaged  √

Pretty sure that’s happened too,

Sat on a book accidentally √

Well if it was on my sofa……

Grand Total:

10 / 20

So half nice/ half naughty??? I think Bookish Santa will still visit this year…. 🎄

I’m going to be a little more naughty and skip out on the tagging segment. I’m sure many of you have either been tagged or completed this one already. If you haven’t and want to do it, consider yourself tagged!

It’s Day Four of Cozy Christmas Week. I’m falling behind in Christmas prepartions thanks to this annoying sickness and the mountain of papers I have to mark. I’m feeling a lot stronger today so hopefully I’ll make a dent in the marking and then I can maybe wrap some presents later.

What about you? How far along are you in your Christmas prep? Menu sorted yet? Presents wrapped? Cards sent out?

Have a jolly day!

  1. You must have lied in your answers… You’re way too nice to have naughty in you! Lol! As for the ARCs and Netgalley and the pressure you feel…. I totally understand that! I wish I had been a little more restrained in accepting ARCs when I first started. I took WAY TOO MANY, and I’m STILL trying to catch up!! 😂😂 I’ve also been really bad at cross posting my reviews on Goodreads. I’d better get on that before the new Year or it’ll say that I didn’t make my goal for the year, even though it’s just laziness… 😅

    1. Oh no. Just for the sake of ‘recognition’ of finishing the challenges… get on that! Lol.
Before I became a NG member I read so many bloggers complaining about falling into that trap of selecting too much… good warnings!! 😂

I liked your answers, mine would be pretty similar but I think I would be in the naughty category… I am way too mean😂😂

  3. hehe yeah I’m very particular about arcs for the same reason! hahaha yes I said I hadn’t spilled anything on a book- I wondered if I’ve blocked it out too 😉 And I really relate to skimming books I should probably just dnf. hehe cool you got 50/50! Enjoyed reading your answers!

  4. I don’t believe there is a single bookworm out there who HASN’T sometimes read when they should be doing something else 😂 that question shouldn’t count!
