Thanks Siobhan for the tag!  I was looking was something relatively easy to post and saw that Siobhan had tagged me in this fun Beauty and the Beast book tag, so I figured why not?!

The tag was created by Kristy @ Kristy and the Cat Read and I found this beautiful Tag Image over @ Keeana’s Korner.

Alright, question time!!

Tale as Old as Time | A Popular Theme, Trope, or Setting You Will Never Get Bored of Reading

An old love rekindled.  Maybe it stems from my love of Jane Austen’s Persuasion, but I love the story of second chance love.  A new beginning, learning from past mistakes.  There is so much potential for meaty storylines surrounding that one.

Belle | A Book You Bought for Its Beautiful Cover That’s Just as Beautiful on the Inside Too

I have two options for this…. neither one is new to this blog! Lol

If you’re looking to stock your Christmas reading list, Charlee is a great feel-good one.  And Spells and Caramels is a fun witchy cozy mystery.

Gaston | A Book Everyone Loves That You Don’t

The Lucy Stone series is quite well-liked.  Somehow I ended up picking up book number 23 in the series as my first.  While that may have worked against my liking the book, I actually found the main character to be a tad whiny and overly critical… not someone I wanted to read much more about, sadly.

Lefou | A Loyal Sidekick You Can’t Help But Love More Than Their Counterpart

I’m quite fond of main character Fortune, in this series.  However, sidekick Gertie manages to steal the show most times.  With her zany ideas, age inappropriate disguises and devil may care attitude, she makes for some seriously laugh out loud moments.

Mrs. Potts, Chip, Lumiere, and Cogsworth | A Book That Helped You Through a Difficult Time or Taught You Something Valuable

Enid Bylton stories taught me to believe in magic.  They opened up my imagination, inspired my own stories and instilled a sense of wonder into my joy of reading.  The Wishing Chair series is one of the first I remember reading on my own.  Added bonus: Mrs. Potts et al would fit right into any magical Blyton Tale.

Something There | A Book or Series You Weren’t Into at First But Picked Up Towards the End

After reading many great reviews about Class Reunions, I was excited to read it.  Admittedly the first few chapters didn’t immediately hook me.  However, by the end of the book I was hooked on the series.  Book 2 was hilarious and I’m looking forward to Book 3!

Be Our Guest | A Fictional Character You’d Love to Have Over for Dinner

Quite a few to choose from…. my usual choices would be Mr. Darcy, Harry, Dumbledore.  I’m going with someone different today, Marco from The Night Circus.  I’d like to find out a bit more about him.

      1. No… I really haven’t gotten anything recently. I know I wasn’t on as often this past month but I’d normally make sure to open Rachel’s emails as she gets some pretty good books! Lol. I’ll go to her page to check for the tour.

  1. Oops, meant to add that I absolutely adore Enid Blyton although I started with The Faraway Tree series. I don’t think I ended up reading The Wishing Chair. Loved the Famous Five and Malory Towers. Re-bought all 3 of those series recently and hope to get round to reading them again at some point … along with my enormous TBR pile!

  2. Lovely answers. I love the Enid Blyton series too. Any book by her, in fact. I am just waiting to re-read the whole lot once my niece grows up. Yayyy…
    (rest all not read… Sighhh)

  3. Woot woot, Mr. Darcy!! I knew he’d have to find his way in there somewhere!! I really need to get to that “Spells & Carmels” series! I’ve had them in my list after reading all the amazing reviews you and Jay post… I need more time!! 💖

  4. I love this tag! I’m definitely adding Charlee and the Chocolate Shop to my Christmas list this year. I have to read that one. I just adore the cover too. Love all your choices! 😁❤

  5. YES! Old love rekindled is the best, and comparatively under-used, so great when it’s well done!! And I loved Enid Blyton books as a child too; I saw a big box of them at a secondhand store the other day, and it took all of my strength not to buy them all on the spot, purely for the nostalgia ❤

      1. HA! Well, the box was very heavy, and I was alone, and I had to walk up a huge hill to get home – that helped 😉
