Today I’m participating in First Chapter First Paragraph Tuesday Intros, hosted by Vicki at I’d Rather Be At The Beach, in which bloggers share a bit about a book they’re reading or planning to read soon.  Feel free to join in by posting your own book intro, linking back to Vicki’s page and joining the FCFPT linky.

I’d just completed and posted yesterday’s October Looking Ahead post, only to check my email and see that the latest Spells and Caramels eARC is ready!  As soon as I finish Magick Run Amok, I’ll be diving straight into what has to be my favourite series of the year.

Chapter 1

Hard Ticket to the Badlands

I trembled as I held my arms overhead.

“Hands up or you die,” the deep voice growled again from the dark shadows between the trees.

I glanced around. Annie was the last of my friends to hold her ground. I admired her grit, but…. Come on, Annie, we don’t want to die. She slowly lifted her arms, a scowl on her face.

Iggy piped up from his lantern, which rested beside my foot. “What if you don’t have hands?” I nudged his lantern with my toe and muttered out of the corner of my mouth, “Not the time for sass, Iggy.”

My friends and I stood surrounded, vulnerable with our arms in the air. All except Hank, who lay sprawled at the base of a giant tree. He didn’t stir, his eyes closed.

Publication Date: October 13

The blurb for this book isn’t up as yet but you can read my reviews of any of the previous 6 in the series!

From Book 1Seashells, Spells & Caramels is the first book in a charming paranormal cozy mystery series. If you like funny heroines, mysterious magical communities, and quirky conspiracies, then you’ll love Erin Johnson’s perfectly witchy recipe.

What are you reading today?

  1. This is a series I put on a GR shelf to remind myself I need to buy the first book. I think you’re the one who always features it and its installments yeah? It looks really good and I love witches.
