I was awarded this Liebster Award a little while ago by the lovely Kristin at A Simply Enchanted Life. Check out Kristin’s site for beautiful photos, thought provoking discussions and book reviews of contemporary books and some oldies.  She’s been getting through her old Sweet Valley High collection!

Kristin’s Questions

1 Name a popular movie you have never seen and have no plans to watch.

Psycho.  Too scary.

2 Name a genre you will not read and why.

Horror.  I scare too easily!

3 What is your favorite snack to eat while reading a book?

Potato chips or popcorn.

4 If you were to name a child after a book character what would your child be named?

I really like the name Landon.  He’s the male main character in Wicked Witches of the Midwest.  Interestingly enough, each of my sons’ names contain only the vowels ‘a’ and ‘o’… just like Landon.

5 You’re forced to go on an epic adventure. What weapon do you take? (examples: lightsaber/magic wand/bow/sword or etc)

Magic Wand, every time!

6 What is the best book that you read in 2017?

That’s pretty hard to narrow down.  I can mention a few I really enjoyed:

Charlee and the Chocolate Shop, Watching Glass Shatter, Killer Jam, Hook, Line and Blinker, Grim Tidings and Shot Off The Presses.

7 What is your biggest pet peeve in a book or movie?

Bad or unnatural dialogue.

8 You can have a pet—real, fictional or mythical. Which pet do you want?

I’d be really cliched and take a Unicorn ☺️

9 You step into a wardrobe and find a magical land. Do you explore it or are you too afraid of what you may find?

I’d be off exploring before my mind could even consider that it may be dangerous!

10 What book world would you love to visit?

Hogwarts!!!!!!!

11 Think of a book character you admire that has a hobby. What is that hobby and would you give it a try?

I quite admire Elizabeth Bennet in Pride and Prejudice.  Her most obvious hobby was reading which I kinda maybe might have covered already 😉.  However, she does play the piano as well and I would’t mind learning how to do that!

1 What is the first thing you think of when you wake up in the morning?

My morning cup of coffee.

2 Do you prefer stand-alone books or book series? Why?

I like series as I get attached to the characters and want to ‘see’ them again.

3 What is your opinion having to make your bed in the morning even if you’re going to get back into it in the evening?

I prefer to make the bed.  I like seeing my bed tidy (even if the rest of my room may not be 😄) and I like laying down on a made up bed.

4 Do you watch YouTube? Who are your favorite YouTubers?

Nope.

5 If you could interview one person, dead or alive, who would it be and why?

The Pope.  He just seems like a really fun guy despite having a really intense job.

6 Do you listen to audiobooks? What do you think of them?

Yup.  I like them.  They’ve given me an opportunity to read even when I can’t sit down and hold my book/ eReader.

7 What is your favorite social media platform to vent on? Why?

Umm… not sure… Maybe Facebook? But I generally keep the venting for meeting with my  friends in-person.

8 Does your family and real-life friends know about your blog? Do they read it?

Only my husband and best friend.  He reads it sometimes… not sure about my friend… hmm…

9 Why WordPress? What made you choose this specific platform for your blog?

Recommendation from another blogger/ author.

10 What is your favorite language?

English… because it’s the one I’ve fully mastered, I hope.  Then there’s Spanish that I’m hoping to master eventually and then French which I seem to have forgotten.
