Sunshine Blogger Award

Thanks very much to my wonderful blog friends for these nominations. I’m doing Awards 3 and 4 together as I’m trying to get through the list a bit faster.

These two nominations came from Mini @ Book and Corner and Siobhan @ Novelties.

So the rules are as follows:

  1. Thank the person who nominated you in a blog post and link back to their blog.
  2. Answer the 11 questions sent by the person who nominated you.
  3. Nominate 11 new blogs to receive the award and write them 11 new questions.
  4. List the rules and display the Sunshine Blogger Award logo in your post and/or your blog.

Here are Mini’s questions.  Mini’s blog shows off her love for classics, contemporary fiction, mystery, historical fiction and dystopian narratives.  Check out her blog to participate in some of her bookish discussions.

1 What is your guilty pleasure?

Late night reading, with a glass (or two) of wine.

2 If given a chance to meet an author, who would you meet and why?

So many I’d like to put in here but I’ll go with J K Rowling as I think she’s very inspirational.

3 Why do you blog?

Because I love reading and writing 🙂

4 Describe your reading style. Are you a planner or a random reader?

Before blogging, very random.  Since I started blogging and started taking on book tours and ARCs, definitely a planner… I even build in the space for random book insertions that I may just feel too read… hmm… That doesn’t sound strange at all! 😉

5 What would you choose: Book or Internet?

Book!  Was that a trick question?

6 Three things you always carry with yourself.

My glasses, my phone and a pair shoes…. I hate being barefoot, unless I’m on a sandy beach.

7 Where would you like to live and why?

Near the beach.  The ocean calms me.

8 If you had to choose one food to eat for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Indian food

9 Tell me one fact about yourself.

I’m average height.

10 If traveling became free, where would you like to go?

Almost anywhere in South America.

11 What is at the top of your bucket list?

A tour of Cuba.

Time for Siobhan’s questions.  Siobhan is a Publishing student and writes very insightful reviews on the books she reads.  Her blog has a beautiful design and is a pleasure to read. Her questions had me wracking my brains!

1 What are you hoping authors change or finally include in their books for 2018?

I think, authors have been pushing boundaries in their writing.  Depending on what I want to read or see, I can select my author or book accordingly.

2 Which trope do you love/hate?

The love triangle I don’t like.  The brother’s best friend one, however, is kinda cute.

3 Which OTP is your favourite? Or which OTP are you hoping will sail?

OTP? Sorry 🙈

4 Which book of 2018 has disappointed you?

None yet.

5 Which villain would you kiss, marry, or kill?

Kiss: Daniel Cleaver in Bridget Jones… he counts as a villain, I think.

Marry: Erik Killmonger in Black Panther because, well, did you see him?!

Kill: Umbridge in Harry Potter because she’s just plain evil!

6 What would you like to see changed or fixed in the blogging community?

WP random glitches like lost notifications, comments and likes

7 Which character would you want to rewrite?

Aunt Petunia in Harry Potter.  I think she could/should have shown some spine later on.

8 Which author are you dying to get a signature from?

Any of my favourites actually.  I don’t think I have any signed books ☹️

9 Do you think you should judge a book without reading it (especially if you’ve heard bad things about it)?

Depends on what those things may be… If opinion is pretty united on issues like bad dialogue, poor editing, crap ending, then I may skip it.

Which books are you anticipating the most for the next few months?

To be honest, I’ve got enough to read.  I’ll read my books as they come out.  I’m patient, usually.

Which characters would you love to see get in a fight? Who do you think would win?

Wonder Woman and Cat Woman…. and there’s no way I can call that one!

I’m not nominating anyone in particular.  All of my blog buddies bring sunshine to my browser.  If you like any combination of the above questions, give them a shot!
