MARCH 6TH – Top 5 authors I want to meet.
This Top 5 Tuesday meme is hosted by the very lovely and super helpful Shanah at Bionic Bookworm. If you want to join in, please do. You can check out the fun topics selected for March. Today’s topic is Top 5 authors I want to meet.
These story makers have written tales that captured my attention and thoughts for days and even weeks on end. I look forward to their next books and would be absolutely thrilled to meet them. Even more, I’d love to sit with them over a cup of coffee and discuss their wonderful works. So in no particular order, I give you my Top 5 authors I want to meet:
1 Amanda M Lee.
I’ve got several posts on my blog about books and cozy mystery series by this author. To some extent, her books were an inspiration to get to blogging as I wanted to chit chat about some of my favourite characters from her books. With 5+ series running concurrently, she’s a phenomenal indie author!
2 Jane Austen.
It may be a little difficult to meet this lady of the 19th century! Doesn’t change the fact that I’d love a chat with Ms. Austen to discuss her inspirations and what it was really like for a woman author living in those times.
I did an author spotlight on Catherine Bybee some time ago. I adore her romance stories. She creates loveable heroines and drool worthy heroes. With several series under her belt, Ms. Bybee shows no signs of slowing down. How does she do it?
4 Nora Roberts.
For years romance novels equalled the Danielle Steele books I found on my mother’s bookshelf. Then I discovered Nora Roberts and she became my Danielle. While my mother may have thought I was too young to be reading her Danielle Steele, we eventually ended up swapping copies of our Nora Roberts books. I think she was the first author from whom I read romantic suspense novels.
James is a fellow blogger and will probably be amused at being added to this list. Hey, you and Roda seemed to have had quite the time the other day! You’ve turned yourself into a hot commodity Jay. All joking aside, Jay’s first novel, Watching Glass Shatter, was one of my favourite reads from last year. This year, to my great excitement, I’ve been able to beta read for his second novel. Wishing you much success with that one too my friend.
Update: I cannot believe I forgot to put J K Rowling on my list! Late night writing! Anyway, of course I’d love to meet J K. I find her personal story to be just as captivating as the enchanting world she created for Harry Potter. Anyone with that level of imagination is someone I want to meet.
What about you? Any favourite authors you’d like to meet?
I’ve been lucky enough to meet Jay, but if you figure out a way to meet Jane Austen I’m with you…..Liane Moriarty would be my fave to meet.

I think I’d fall flat on my face if I met Rowling. I wouldn’t know what to say 🙈

I know right?! I’d probably turn all red and try to pretend I wasn’t actually staring at her 😄

Well if I can assemble some semblance of words, I’ll be okay. But I doubt it though. The 12 year old in me would be hyperventilating 😂

WP is acting up for me today. Tried posting comments to a couple sites and on some they’re not coming up. I enjoyed your author interview today.

Hi! What a fun post and your choices are quite excellent (ignoring me, as that would mean I had too big an ego)… I am happy to be replaced by JK Rowling. I think she’d be on mine, too.
I am beyond grateful for you including me. You’ve been such a wonderful friend in the last 9 months… and your help on WGS marketing, plus everything on this second novel’s beta reading has been amazing. I really appreciate all you’ve done!
I’m gonna be smiling all night because of this post… especially since I just hit send on the draft to editor to close on the second book (well, a few updates next week after we finalize anything she finds this week!)
Some day, when we’re in the same state, we will make meeting happen!

No need to replace. Lol. You should see some of the other participants’ posts. Many people couldn’t contain their lists to just the five.
Glad you enjoyed the post. It’s been a pleasure working with you, and incredibly exciting to be part of the process.
Wow number two is so close to completion!
Then on to number 3 😄

3? I think you’re trying to punish me for something. Ha! I plan to finish the Ethan Glass short story (which is almost done) and then finalize the outline for the Glass sequel… but I am already plotting in my head the next book after those!
I can’t wait til 365 ends so I can read more posts for a couple of weeks!

Yup. I just want to know if all these literary intellects got it right in their analyses of her work 😉
Jay definitely appreciated it. Lol.

hehe that’s a good point 😉 I just think she’d have a great sense of humour and be a lot of fun 😉
hehe I’m glad 😀

I think so too! I suspect she’d just be amused by the stir she’s caused. And I think she’d agree Colin Firth makes the best Mr. Darcy. 😉
