FEBRUARY 6TH – Top 5 cover buys
This Top 5 Tuesday meme is hosted by the very lovely and super helpful Shanah at Bionic Bookworm. If you want to join in, please do. You can check out the fun topics selected for February. Today’s topic is Top 5 cover buys.
I’m a sucker for a pretty cover. It’s not secret. I’m not ashamed. Of course the blurb has to be pretty good too to get me to buy the book. But show me a pretty cover and I’m already half inclined to buy.
I took a quick stroll through my kindle for some of the prettiest covers I could find, as I know they influenced the purchase overall.
Charlee and the Chocolate Shop by Jessica Redland
I saw this book in December and knew I had to have it. It was also a really sweet story and was a perfect Christmas read.
Shadow Fall by Audrey Grey
A fellow blogger recommend this book. The blurb looked interesting, the cover was beautiful and I decided to give it a chance, even though it was out of my usual genre. I was not disappointed at all!
The Frosty Taste of Scandal by Ceecee James
I actually have no idea why I purchased this one. I probably saw it recommend by another blogger. It’s a cozy mystery and seems perfect for a nice afternoon read. Will let you know how it goes.
Seashells, Spells and Caramels by Erin Johnson
Speaking of pretty covered cozies… I’m reading this this month as part of my Beat the Backlist with Novel Knight Challenge. This was another recommended cozy that came with a cover too cute to resist.
Initiation by K. E. O’Connor
I have no idea where I came across this one. I still think the cover is attention grabbing… and keeping. It’s about girl who realises she can see ghosts, is sent to a special school and realises she has a pivotal role to play in protecting the world from evil. I’ll see how it goes.
Charlee and the Chocolate Shop is hands down my favourite though.
What about you? What’s one of your favourite covers?
Just love the cover for Charlee and the Chocolate Shop. Can’t get better than Christmas plus chocolate 😉 😋

if went looking at covers. I learn that I like a yellow background, dogs and cats on the cover tend to attract me. Many covers were too busy.

Hahaha. That’s true… a lot of the books you feature do gave dogs and cats on them.

Definitely add it for December. The same author also has one called Carly’s Cupcake shop… I think. It’s also a Christmas read. I’ll try that one this Dec.

I all but one to my TBR but one, the first installment of its series. I can’t read a series out of order. I put two of these, the fantasy ones on my list to hunt at a used bookstore.

Great. So far I’ve only read Charlee and Shadow Fall. Both were good. Seashells I’ll read this months.
