I find that over the last few years music has not been as much a part of my daily life as it used to be.  This is something I plan to rectify.  As a teenager, however, I’d spend hours holed away in my room listening to whatever current or vintage music seemed to most match my woes or joys at the time.  One band that featured heavily on my playlist at that time was the Cranberries.

My best friend introduced me to them when Zombie came out but it was Linger that I often played in the proceeding years.  That song will always epitomise the Alternative genre, for me, perhaps simply because it was the first that I absolutely loved.

So, like many participating in this meme today, in memory of Dolores O’Riordan, I chose Linger by the Cranberries.
