TAG: Anything But Books Tag

I was tagged by Mischenko @ReadRantRockandRoll for the Anything But Books Tag. Thanks for the tag!  I quite liked this tag and, as the title says, it’s about anything but books!  Us book bloggers do have other interests too, after all.  If you haven’t been to Mischenko’s blog yet, you really should check it out. Her posts are always interesting, informative and fun.

Here are the questions:

Name a cartoon that you love.

The Jetsons.  It was a toss-up between Scooby-Doo, the Flintstones and The Jetsons, but the futuristic family won out.

What is your favorite song right now?

Ed Sheeran – Perfect Symphony (with Andrea Bocelli)

What could you do for hours that isn’t reading?

Online shopping. 🙊  I hate crowds and walking around a mall and dealing with pushy store attendants or cross shoppers. So I’m really happy to get my shopping done from the comfort of my sofa.  I can even have my own selection of music playing while I do it!

What is something that you love to do that your followers would be surprised by?
I love to bake cakes, cookies, cupcakes and brownies.  I don’t get to do it often enough; and I’d really like to find the time to learn how to decorate cookies properly.

What is your favorite, unnecessarily specific thing to learn about?
I read about very random things.  Sometimes it’s a celebrity’s biography. Sometimes I like looking at world maps or regional maps to try to locate places relative to others. Oh and I like watching any kind of nature based documentary.  I have lots of random bits of info stored in my crazy brain.

What is something unusual you know how to do?
Hmm… I can fold a fitted sheet very neatly. Not too unusual… but… yeah…

Name something that you’ve made in the last year
I made a blog. LOL.  Does that count? I also came up with this fantastic recipe for a caramel pecan cheesecake that was a hit at Christmas brunch.

What is your most recent personal project?
For each of my two elder sons I put together a baby book of their first year.  It has pictures, little bits of text and things that I really want to remember.  I put the books together on Shutterfly and had them printed.  Baby number 3 is almost 2 years old and I haven’t finished his book yet.  So I’m trying to complete that project asap.

Tell us something that you think of often.
The future.  My children. What kind of people they will become.  What kind of world they will face.

Tell us something that’s your favorite, but make it oddly specific.
I love my copy of Pride and Prejudice.  It’s the one I used when I was in school and it’s all annotated and reminds me of when I actually had neat hand writing.  Whenever I reread P and P it has to be from that specific copy.

I don’t know who was tagged already so if this is your second or third time, I’m sorry.  As always, no pressure to do it but I’d love to read your answers if you do!

  1. THANK YOU SO MUCH for tagging me! :]
I have already done this tag, so you can see my answers at https://sduffy1331.wordpress.com/2017/12/23/anything-but-books-tag/

I also love that version on Ed Sheeran’s Perfect. Brings chills every time.
The version of this I was tagged in did not say to make my favorite thing specific. So I want to share with you my favorite (specific) thing- right now, it is my notebook! It is a simple teal one from Target (from the recycled brand) that I picked up on a whim, and now I use it everyday for basically everything. I got a set of pretty washi tape to use in it, and I always try really hard to write super neat. I don’t really know why but I love it so much. It feels like a piece of me that I can carry around and show to people if I really wanted to.

I loved your answers for this :] Thanks again for tagging me

  2. I’m so glad you did the tag! Loved your answers. A blog certainly counts as something you made in my book. 😉 We do have some things in common too. I’ve never been able able to fold a fitted sheet very well though. I need to check into that lol! 💖 Thanks for linking back. Chat soon and have a great weekend. 😁

  3. I love this list because I nodded my head with everything … EXCEPT the ability to fold fitted sheets. No matter how many times I watch youtube videos on this very subject, I fail. Sigh. On another note, I received a P&P scarf for Christmas with the first two lines embroidered on it. My favorite Christmas gift ever.

      1. Haha my Grandma gave my Mom and all her siblings a scrapbook of their lives when they turned 40. And she did it the old fashion way with stickers and paper and glue. My mom did ours online 🙂

        Can’t wait for your post!

  4. I totally forgot about Flinstones. I used to love that show but somehow it slipped my mind. Thank you for the reminder. And, I love online shopping too.🙋
