One Month in and the Sunshine Blogger Award

A spot of sunshine in my week today.  Today is one month since my first post!  As soon as I figure out how to upload gifs, there will be a happy dance one… so just pretend there’s a happy dance playing on your screen. It’s also my hubby’s birthday today, so that means dinner and delicious cake later.  Although it’s his birthday we will fight over tiramisu or cheesecake… but that’s just how it goes.

Anyway, I thought today would be a perfect day to share the Sunshine Blogger Award/Tag. I was nominated for this award by: Darque Dreamer Reads

Thanks for the nomination!

Make sure you go check out and follow her blog.  She has fantastic posts and her blog is eye candy for anyone who likes cherry splashes of colour, and who doesn’t like colour?!

The Rules

  • Thank the person who nominated you in a blog post and link back to their blog.
  • Answer the 11 questions sent by the person who nominated you.
  • Nominate 11 new blogs to receive the award and write them 11 new questions.
  • List the rules and display the Sunshine Blogger Award logo in your post and/or on your blog.

Questions taken, mixed and mashed from Darque Dreamer’s post:

  1. What made you decide to start a blog?

I was really enjoying reading cozy mystery series and wanted a space to share the love and find out what others thought.  I’m also a rather introverted person and shy away from small talk.  Seemed like a book blog would be a good place to connect with others.  Now if I could just have random bookish conversations with perfect strangers, I’d be set.

  1. How long have you been blogging?

Today is one month since my first post.  I thought today would be a good one to complete this tag and write a little bit about me.

  1. Do you aspire to be a writer?

I do, one day.

  1. If you were going to write a book, what would it be about?

I’m a lover of happy endings, enough heartache in real life, so I’d do a cozy mystery or a romance.

  1. Do you read multiple books at once?

Yes. I never liked to before but it’s a must now.  I’ve got 2 reading and 1 audio going.

  1. What is your favourite dish?

Lasagna followed by cheesecake flan; or Chicken Tikka Masala followed by coconut ice-cream.

  1. What was your least favourite school subject?

Math! Oh my goodness, Math!

  1. What was your favorite subject in school?

Literature in high school. History at university.

  1. What “required reading” book did you enjoy reading the most in school?

The Chrysalids by John Wyndham.  Remembering this, I went on Amazon and bought a secondhand copy, as I had lost my first.

  1. Who is your favourite bookworm fictional character

Elizabeth Bennet.  Pride and Prejudice was also a favourite from school and I’ve still got my school copy somehow.

  1. What would be your mythical pet?
A Phoenix- rising from the ashes

I nominate some bloggers who some bring sunshine to my screen with their posts:

A Petite Slice of Life, Cozynookbks, MrHushHush Entries, Joy of Reading, Tea and Tales, LFBooks, Dippy Dotty Girl, Jessica Rachow, TheGirlWithAllTheBooks, BooksandCo

Please don’t feel obligated to post, but if you do join in, I hope you enjoy answering the questions below:

  1. When last did you watch a sunrise?
  2. Are you an early riser or a late-morning-surfacer?
  3. Which HP house were you sorted into?
  4. What book have you just just just finished?
  5. Do you like romance in books?
  6. What’s the first book you can actually remember holding in your hands and reading to yourself?
  7. What book are you hoping to finish by tomorrow?
  8. Who are the first 3 authors’ names to pop into your mind, right now?
  9. What’s your favourite dessert?
  10. In school, which class did you most often fall asleep during?
  11. Which of your tagged blogger friends, is most likely to respond to this tag first?

Have a great weekend!
